Key Working Relationships:
The successful candidate will be expected to build effective cross team relationships between product, customer support, operations and software development teams through good communication, collaboration and team work:
- Your scrum team – other QA engineers, developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Scrum Master and System Administrators who you will work collaboratively with day to day to deliver quality software
- QA Manager – your line manager who will set the strategy and vision for quality in your team working closely with their dev counterparts, and who will work with you on your personal development
- The QA Service Delivery teams – Test Frameworks and Performance QA teams who will provide services to your team to enable efficient and effective delivery of quality software
- QA community – with the aim of promoting and improving quality at Betfair
Knowledge & Experience:
Essential:
- Development of automated tests in Java/C#. Expert in using Java/C#.
- Migration of automated tests from .Net framework to Java based framework.
- Capable of writing and maintaining simple to advanced test utilities in C#/Java.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Enterprise- level Server / Platform testing.
- Review test scripts to ensure adherence to company’s standards.
- Plan & execute work that includes complex testing of high risk application areas.
- Stay up to date on general knowledge of Betfair software architecture; understanding component and application breakdown and interaction.
- Advanced understanding of test frameworks.
- Recognized domain expert for a number of complex functional components.
- Awareness of the different types of testing frameworks; data driven, keyword driven, and SOAP/REST/JSON based.
- Background in functional testing with the ability to plan, design, script and execute automated/manual test cases based on requirements and discussion with various stakeholders.
- Significant experience in applying automated testing tools to number of successful agile software projects.
- Proven diagnostic and debugging skills.
- Good experience with Continuous Integration/delivery.
- Experience of object oriented programming concepts and how they should be used in test-framework architecture.
- Experience of SQL and database testing.
- Ability to learn new technologies and software quickly.
- Build strong relationships across teams.
- Work well under pressure.
- Work independently.
- Require no supervision for work tasks. Excellent communication skills.
Desirable:
- Educated to degree level in a science or technologyrelated field.
- ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing.
- Experience of HP’s testing technologies including Quality Centre/QTP.
