HR Business Partner - 9 to 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) - London

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Tasks:

  • Provides HR support in ensuring the alignment of HR initiatives to the growth of the business in London;
  • Recruitment up to senior level. Support and advice to line managers on recruitment needs and how to effectively resource. Working closely with the in-house recruitment team to ensure that Newedge uses the most effective recruitment methods. Works with the business to identify and build upon “successes” and eliminate poor practice. Ensures all new recruits have necessary permits and permissions to work in the UK and in financial services.
  • Produces detailed management information on talent acquisition, retention and career management.
  • Implements and enforces corporate initiatives and Global HR policies.
  • Works on initiatives and projects both locally and globally which add value to HR’s corporate service offering.

Responsibilities:


  • It is envisaged that the role holder will be responsible for partnering the Non-Front Office Functions, although they should be flexible and able to work wherever there is a business requirement. This will include liaison with senior management team across functions, where the ability to give commercial and credible advice is paramount.
  • Builds, develops and maintains strong relationships with internal client base and provides advice on all HR issues to management and staff;
  • Remains thoroughly conversant and advises on changes in employment and regulatory legislation and ensures that HR issues are handled in compliance with HR policies;
  • Highlights and responds to HR related business risk and ensures best practice with employment issues including liaison with external legal advisors as appropriate. Able to handle complex terminations, compromise agreements, redundancies, disciplinary issues, grievances etc with minimal assistance. Ensures that Newedge remains compliant with current UK employment legislation and amendment of contracts etc to ensure compliance.
  • Works with HR Management and Colleagues to ensure that HR team deliver a world class service.

Skills and Experience


  • The role requires a HR professional with extensive generalist experience within a Financial Services environment, able to operate up to a senior level. Experience of supporting comparable Business Lines is preferred.
  • Candidates will demonstrate that they can act as a credible and trusted partner to the business within a fast paced environment, displaying integrity and professionalism and taking personal accountability for results. They will be used to taking ownership of complex problems and decisions and responding to them with a positive outlook.
  • Proactive and forward thinking, the role-holder will readily seek out better ways to deliver additional value to the business through HR solutions. They will be able to determine and deliver HR process needs in line with Newedge’s business objectives, developing a sound commercial understanding of Newedge’s business and markets ensuring that the wider business and commercial issues are addressed in applying a HR solution. In particular, the role holder will be to demonstrate their strong commercial awareness and understanding of Newedge’s business to key stakeholders.
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills are desirable (minimum intermediate level advanced preferred), as candidates will have experience of producing accurate and timely management reporting solutions which meet the specific information needs of each business area and enhance that area’s ability to successfully manage its people.
