The key focus of the Commercial Revenues Analysis team is to offer an enhanced level of analytical capability for revenues generated by the business, as well as insight on the factors which determine these revenues.
The Commercial Finance Department sits at the heart of the company. Analysing, modelling, predicting and advising on the key performance indicators that are used to measure the businesses success.
We are seeking an ambitious, hard working analyst to work within Betfair’s Commercial Analysis group. Working specifically to analyse revenues from our core business, we are seeking someone who can comfortably handle complex datasets, identify underlying drivers and trends, and present their findings in a clear, confident manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
o The Commercial Revenues Analysis team is responsible for delivery monthly and quarterly analysis of all of Betfair’s key products, identifying how the product is performing in line with the business’s KPIs and making informed suggestions on how to drive improvement.
o Over the coming months the team will take charge of benchmarking Betfair’s performance against major competitors within the industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning this process and reporting findings to the business on a quarterly basis.
o In addition to regular analysis, the team are responsible for delivering commercial analysis projects and representing the Commercial Analysis group in cross-functional projects. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable managing small analytical projects in their entirety, and in feeding analysis into wider project groups.
o Upon starting the role, the successful candidate will be expected to develop a detailed understanding of how Betfair works. This applies both to the website itself, from a customer standpoint, and what the business’s key KPIs are, how they are measured, and how they interact to drive revenues.
Key working relationships:
- Reports to the Commercial Revenues Analysis Manager within the Commercial Analysis Team
- Other key relationships will be with the aforementioned team, Commercial Finance, Commercial Strategy and Business Intelligence
The must haves: (skills and knowledge)
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience gained.
- Experience in an analysis focussed role.
- Must be comfortable handling and analysing complex data sets, and have the ability to digest the information and summarise the key points in a style appropriate for senior stakeholders within the business.
- Should be confident in presenting and discussing their findings with stakeholders from all functions in the business.
- Team player willing to work closely with team members and colleagues across the business, to deliver complex analysis to scope and in a timely fashion.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Business Intelligence/Data Mining tools.
The nice to haves:
- Experience writing PL SQL, knowledge of OLAP cubes and cube functions.
- Previous employment in an online/technology company
